Outings and Events
Since I have been a member of the city of London service users group I have been on several trip's or days and nights out, now I know what your thinking , People with drug and alcohol abuse problems going out for a night on the town. Let me assure you there is no desire to even use drugs or alcohol whilst on a trip out, firstly because we are representing the City of London Drug Action Team and don't want to embarrass them, and secondly I have found that a good night can be had by all without Drugs or Alcohol. Some of the evenings that I have experienced with the Service Users Group have been purely unforgettable and thats just my experience, and I am not for a second speaking on behalf of the other service users. Personally I have been to the theater twice and on a day trip to south end for the day. All well worth it and memory's that are positive and good in the aid to recovery. The group Normally decides to do something about every two months, due to funding and place availability. The next outing or day out ,is in the pipe line and is to be held in a month or so ,and from the group consensus last time I went to the group we are planing to go, Go-Karting and were just waiting for it to warm up a little bit before undertaking this activity ,if you think you can come up with a idea nothing is to to silly and all surgestions will be taken in to acccount. Watch this space for other service users opinions about the recent outings and there thoughts and for the next outing as mine alone could be construed as biased, it will be posted on this web page so everyone knows about it well in advance. so watch this space.
Im am pleased to announce that there is a day out to Chesington World of Adventures , in the pipe line and is open to the regular service users who attend the group( this is down to cost and limited spaces)
To get your name on the list make sure you attend our next meeting which is being held on the 4th April 08, and you will be double luckey as to get your name on the list for Chesington and also learn about Over dose prevention and primary care, in an over dose situation.
