The Arrest Referall Scheme is based at Snow Hill and Bishopsgate Police Stations. If someone is arrestedfor a "Trigger offence"(where drug abuse is likey to be a contrabutinf factor), they will be drug tested by the police and if the result is positive for class A, they will then be assessed by an arresr referall practitioner based there. The next stage is to start (or restart) treatment or to accept some harm minimisation advice about their drug use.
If the person is arrested for a non-trigger offence but would still like support,adviceor a refferal into treatment they can request it from the custody sergeant or an arrest referall practitionervisting he police cells.
